Yellowstone spokeswoman Morgan Warthin told the Associated Press the bison have moved into the Gardiner basin as part of their yearly migration. Outside the confines of the park, Yellowstone states, they may be captured and taken to slaughter at the Stephen’s Creek Facility. The hunt is part of a policy to regulate the population of bison in Yellowstone, which is the only spot in the contiguous U.S. housing free-ranging bison since the prehistoric era....

The biggest change to Hunt with update 1.4 has to do with burning, poison, and bleeding. Previously in the game, players can have negative effects when dealt damage from fire, poison, or sharp objects. This could be from a weapon, like a poison crossbow, monsters like ones wielding knives, or environmental objects like a barrel that explodes into fire. But now, those effects are being changed for what the developer believes is for the better....

The agency said the storm is moving WNW at 8 mph and will have a “dangerous storm surge and hurricane conditions” within a few hours along Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. This storm is expected to be a heavy rain producer for the peninsula....

Hurricane Elsa is about 100 miles southwest of Tampa and due west of Fort Myers and Cape Coral. The latest advisory states that Elsa has maximum sustained winds of 75 mph. A tropical storm becomes a Cat 1 at 74 mph. Elsa made Cat 1 status on Friday before dropping wind speed and falling back to a tropical storm by Saturday. The storm’s winds dropped to 60 mph, and then 50 before gaining more strength as it passed through Cuba Monday and got into the Gulf of Mexico....

Hurricane Ida, which made landfall Sunday as an extremely dangerous Category 4 storm, tore part of the roof off the Lady of the Sea General Hospital in the south Louisiana town of Galliano, which took the brunt of Ida’s landfall. This tweet shows high winds shred part of the roof from the hospital. Ida made landfall around noon local time, and it happened on the 16th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina making landfall in this section of the Gulf....
