Several hospitals in areas affected by Hurricane Ida reported plans to evacuate their patients to safer areas on Monday if the weather permitted. Ochsner Health, which runs the largest hospital network in the state, decided preemptively to evacuate a smaller hospital in St. Charles Parish, president and CEO Warner Thomas said Sunday. Officials at the hospital system said roughly 15 of their hospitals are in areas potentially affected by Ida, and patients with particular medical needs were evacuated from small, rural hospitals to larger facilities....

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said that deputies responded to a home on Fordham Creek Lane in Orlando for a shooting shortly after 1 a.m. local time, local news station Fox 35 reported. Police found 52-year-old Jagdesh Kissoonchand dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the home. His wife, 50-year-old wife Indira Kissoonchand, had also been shot, as well as an unidentified woman in her 20s. The women were rushed to the hospital, where Indira Kissoonchand died of her injuries....
