This compatibility was confirmed by publisher No More Robots’ Mike Rose on Twitter yesterday, who said Nintendo suggested they make it available. Anyone who wants to see how a mouse and keyboard would work with the console port can use them in Hypnospace Outlaw’s demo released during the Indie World Showcase. Rose said mouse and keyboard should work on Xbox too, but they did not test it.

Tholen also confirmed that a free update called Hypnoscape Plus will release alongside the console versions in a video accompanying Rose’s announcement on Twitter. The expansion adds over 60 new webpages, over two hours of music, new apps and effects, as well as some “secrets” to Hypnoscape Outlaw, offering players more to do between shifts as an enforcer.
A number of other games were announced and surprise launched during Nintendo’s event, including the award-nominated 2019 hit A Short Hike. That game and many more are including in an Indie World sale on the Switch eShop as of this writing.
Hypnospace Outlaw is available now on PC. It will launch on PS4, Switch, and Xbox One August 27.
